As a member of the Automation Team, my role primarily involved assisting and developing tools to enhance the creation of online advertisement campaigns for search/PPC on Google AdWords and Bing Ads. I also contributed towards building a comprehensive metadata database for deep user profiling.
My key responsibility was to create a tool that simplifies the process for users to generate ads for their website. This tool enabled users to input their website URL, and then highlight the essential product information elements. Once done the system would then crawl the target website, and generates ads for the website from the given selections. Think about it as a trained crawler for yur website, then using specific patterns to create ads automatically.
Additionally, the tool supported Schema.org based data identification, and aimed to automate the selection process using machine learning going forward.
Working at Clicksco was wonderful, I got to try out F# which was difficult to wrap my head around a more “functional” approach. I also learned a lot about crawling the web, and how advertising works on the web in terms of good/bad keywords, optimizing for PPC, and so on.
I personally cut my time short at Clicksco as I decided to seek new adventures in The Netherlands 🇳🇱 where I got the opportunity to work at Coolblue.
